The VDSS Career Campaign was created to compliment the agency's adoption of their own employment application system. Prior to this initiative, the agency relied on the state application system. As the agency grew, the need to separate their postings from the rest of the state increased. The campaign consists of two primary facets, a gateway to the PeopleAdmin Application and the system itself. My role is to design and develop the gateway site and to skin the application to match the gateway.
The gateway site will serve as the main entry portal to the PeopleAdmin application. Visitors seeking employment with the agency will be directed through this site to learn more about the agency before moving on to the application site. They can then use the application site to search through postings, create their profile and apply to the position(s) of their choice. This site will be developed as a single page scroller. This site is still in the design phase; however, I anticipate an early approval of the design; once approved, I can move forward with it's development.
Upon release to the agency, the PeopleAdmin application will need to be styled to match the agency's current web presence and it's gateway site. I anticipate this to be a straight forward process as I have experience with the PeopleAdmin system from my previous employment with Human Resources at Virginia Tech
I would prefer to have made a bolder statement with it's design; however, due to the limited customization option this is not a possibility. This can be seen in the mockups of the system shown in the right side bar.
