Fusion (VDSS Intranet)

Fusion is the new intranet for the Virginia Department of Social Services. Serving in my new position within the agency as thier Digital Content Manager, I'm overseeing the development, implementation, training and overall culture change within the agency. After the agency's web developer resigned, I was promoted to lead the web team for the agency. The switch to the new CMS, powered by the Evoq CMS, had become stagnant due to mismanagement by the previous webmaster. After assuming control of the project, I fast tracked it's implentation with a planned launch in 8 months. I hired a new web developer and started a collaboration effort with our Information Systems division to launch the new system mid-December. Utilizing my division's graphic designer, the compositions below were developed and implemented in the system by the new web developer and myself. I developed all communications initatives with the agency include an expo for the primiary site managers and a complete marking campaign which contained targeted communications to executive leadership, division and local directors and home office/locality personnel (approx. 20,000 employees across the state).

System implementation would be completed in stages. The initial launch of the system would be done piecemeal, with some areas of the site remaining on the existing intranet, SPARK, and other displaying in the new intranet, Fusion. Divisions who have migrated thier content to Fusion would have redirects placed in the old intranet to Fusion and divisions that had not migrated thier content would be redirected from Fusion back to the old intranet. Migration efforts are currently in progress and are anticipated to be completed by the end of the following year.
